SchneckHistory.com is the home of Schneck genealogy and history of the Schneck Reunion.  Henry R. Schneck, Jr., has spent much of his life researching the Schneck family in the United States and Germany. Henry is the historian for the Schneck Family Reunion in Schnecksville, Pennsylvania.   Henry has been an active member of the Reunion since 1975 and historian of the Reunion since 1979.  His service includes:

  • Author of Reunion Constitution & By-laws (1984)
  • Active member of Committee  for 71st Schneck Reunion / Celebration of 150th anniversary of Schnecksville (1989 & 1990)
  • Active member of committee for relocation and preservation of “Original Schneck House” (1990-1993).  Henry prepared detailed scope of work to be used in house restoration and worked with King’s market representatives, restoration architect & contractor to plan scope & estimate of costs of restoration
  • Active member of committee for 75th reunion dinner (1993-1994).  Henry organized and conducted tours of Schneck related sites near Schnecksville.  Henry composed “a short, general history of the Schneck Family Reunion” & lists of reunion dates & locations, officers, and executive committee members for memorabilia hand-out
  • Created and fostered relationship with our German friend & fellow Schneck, Reinhold, who attended our 75th reunion and whom we visited on our tour celebrating our 80th reunion (1993-2001)
  • Planned, organized & lead Schneck Family Heritage tour of Southwest Germany & Switzerland celebrating 250th anniversary of Adam Schneck’s arrival in America & 80th Schneck Family Reunion (1996-1999)

In 1985, Henry, in collaboration with Laurine Schneck Williams, published, Im Schneckengang, “A Genealogy and Early History of Several Schneck Families in America (1741-1985)”.  Henry researched and compiled much of the genealogical data, composed biographical sketches and edited all information for publication.  Henry continues to collect information on Schneck families, attempting to tie the various Schneck family lines together and ‘fill in the blanks’.
